Process and Chemical engineering are concerned with designing and managing processes to carry out molecular transformations at large scale, in order to provide the products and materials we all need. Chemical engineers take raw materials and turn them into useful products via chemical or biological reactions. Process and Chemical Engineers are involved in the design, modification and operation of processes to produce products across a broad range of process industries, including bio/pharmaceuticals, food and drinks production, bulk chemicals and fuels/energy. The course petroleum geology and basic log analysis provides the overview of petroleum geology and its different dimensions including various rock types, occurrence and abundance. The course also provides brief overview of deposition and diagenesis of sediments and their influence in the formation of a good source rock. Key properties in evaluation of petroleum reservoir are volume of shale, porosity, water saturation and permeability. Evaluations of these key properties are done by data acquired by well logging.
