Chemical Engineering

Process and Chemical engineering are concerned with designing and managing processes to carry out molecular transformations at large scale, in order to provide the products and materials we all need. Chemical engineers take raw materials and turn them into useful products via chemical or biological reactions. Process and Chemical Engineers are involved in the design, modification and operation of processes to produce products across a broad range of process industries, including bio/pharmaceuticals, food and drinks production, bulk chemicals and fuels/energy. Process and Chemical engineering helps provide a pathway towards meeting societal requirements around health and wellbeing, energy provision, food production, water supply, waste management and consumer goods.

These courses are designed to establish the foundation for and promote consistent training of all responders to achieve the three objectives of the UEE Goal: responder safety; safe, quick clearance from incidents; and prompt, reliable, interoperable communications.

Geology and Drilling

The course petroleum geology and basic log analysis provides the overview of petroleum geology and its different dimensions including various rock types, occurrence and abundance. The course also provides brief overview of deposition and diagenesis of sediments and their influence in the formation of a good source rock. Key properties in evaluation of petroleum reservoir are volume of shale, porosity, water saturation and permeability. Evaluations of these key properties are done by data acquired by well logging.

Human Resources Management

These courses examine the role of the human resource professional as a strategic partner in managing today's organizations. Key functions such as recruitment, selection, development, appraisal, retention, compensation, and labor relations are examined. Implications of legal and global environments are appraised and current issues such as diversity training, sexual harassment policies, and rising benefit costs are analyzed. Best practices of employers of choice are considered.

Information Technology

These courses are designed to provide students with a working knowledge of computer concepts and essential skills necessary for work and communication in today's society. Students will learn safety, security, and ethical issues in computing and social networking.

Instrumentations Telecommunications Engineering

The Telecommunications Engineering courses will offer you a thorough foundation in telecommunications. You will gain knowledge of design, implementation, testing and industrial applications in the modern field of telecommunications, as well as learn to operate at the cutting-edge of emerging technologies.

Laboratory Management

Laboratory managers oversee the operations of many different types of laboratories, including medical, criminal, research and research and development labs. Lab managers supervise laboratory technologists and technicians, ensure that the lab is compliant with applicable regulations and regularly review and revise laboratory procedures. These courses have been designed to equip participants with managerial skills combined with practical knowledge (ranging from safety, environmental awareness, standards and regulations, specialized information technology systems, effective communications, record keeping, and technical writing) that laboratory work requires.

Maintenance and Reliability Engineering

Achieving excellence in maintenance and reliability is the aim of every organisation that depends on its physical assets to achieve business objectives. Lower profit margins have made reducing maintenance costs imperative to the survival of many organisations. The overall cost of asset ownership is closely tied to the outcomes of reliability, durability and longevity of physical assets. These UEE training courses are about developing and implementing the strategy and tactics that deliver the outcomes we need. This Excellence in Maintenance and Reliability Management training courses start with the key aspects that lay the foundations and cornerstones of an effective maintenance function. It introduces reliability strategies such as FMECA, TPM, RCM and RCFA to highlight their costs and benefits. The Excellence in Maintenance and Reliability Management training course will then demonstrate how these strategies are used to derive the different maintenance tactics of predictive, preventive, detective and repair-after-failure maintenance tactics.

Management and Leadership

This Leadership and Management courses will help you to develop the skills that are essential for all leaders and managers. It looks at the different qualities you may adopt, techniques for motivating and coaching your team, how to develop your emotional skills, and how to maximise your use of time.

Marine and Offshore Engineering

Offshore exploration has become crucial with the expanding demand for energy resources. The Maritime Engineering Sciences / Offshore Engineering courses will look at the design and analysis of offshore and marine structures as well as the latest technologies in disaster response, and it is ideally suited to graduates seeking to enter or specialise in Maritime Engineering.

Mechanical Engineering

How can we construct machines using less material? And how can we get these machines to run on renewable energy? And what about human-machine interaction? The future holds great challenges for mechanical engineers. Join us in this challenge and study mechanical engineering at UEE!

Oil and Gas Engineering

UEE’s "Introduction to the Oil and Gas Industry" courses are designed to support the induction of newcomers to the industry as well as experienced individuals - giving individuals, looking to work in technical and commercial roles, the opportunity to explore the world of oil and gas in an interactive and stimulating environment.

Oracle Business Suite

The Oracle EBS basic courses will introduce you to the world of Oracle applications e-Business suite. They will explain you with the fundamentals of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, with concepts, product background and processes. The courses will also explain the concepts of procure to Pay (P2P) and Order to Cash (O2C) business processes, within the scope of an ERP system. These course intends to give you a flavor of Oracle EBS from three aLNGes: End User: How to create a sales order? Functional Consultant: How to setup and implement Oracle Financials Technical Consultant: How to configure concurrent programs

Project Management and Procurement

Many Project Managers focus only on the scope, schedule and budget. However, a successful project requires that you manage risk, control the quality of the deliverables, engage and manage people and procure goods and services. This course will focus on these key support functions that make the difference between a highly successful project and an average one. During the span of these courses, you will prepare a Qualitative Risk Analysis and Evaluate the Cost of Quality for a provided Case Study.

Quality Assurance

This interactive UEE Quality Assurance & Control training courses are designed to develop the students’ skills in quality assurance and control and give them the best practices they require to implement different types of quality programmes, including Total Quality Management (TQM), within their organisation. Quality assurance and control are integral components of a quality management system that ensure that the product or service being delivered meets the customer’s expectations. Quality assurance and control systems provide guidance on principles, methods, and best practices for organizations to strive for excellence in everything they do. Quality management is a leadership practice that has a positive impact on the entire work environment. Effective leaders build a solid foundation that allows them to develop truly committed employees with high morale and improved performance, providing employees with opportunities for participation, problem solving, and teamwork, it creates a level of motivation within each employee.

Welding & Metallurgy

Participants in these UEE's courses will gain an understanding of materials degradation/corrosion ramifications; materials selection and how to identify the various forms of corrosion attack. These training courses gives a comprehensive review of materials failure and corrosion problems during oil and gas production/transportation and its mitigation. The failures mechanism will be examined with the various types in the oil and gas industry. Factors affecting each of the various forms of materials degradation and ways of mitigating this threat will be discussed. The principles of failures must be understood in order to effectively select materials and utilize metal structures for the optimum economic life of facilities and safety in oil and gas operations. Understanding these factors is of great importance to minimize failure in many industrial applications. Since the environment play an important role in materials corrosion, petroleum and chemical industries discovered various corrosion problems as, localised corrosion, corrosion fatigue, stress corrosion cracking (SCC), hydrogen embrittlement/sulfide stress cracking (SSC) – etc. Many of the corrosion failure problems can be prevented by a proper attention from the early stage of material manufacturing, processing, treatment and machining.
